This is a superb gp surgery, everyone is professional, helpful, caring and friendly. I have just had an appointment with Jane the Respiratory Nurse who is so knowledgable and she spends time with you and you don't feel rushed, she also has a lovely and friendly nature. There is a gentleman who works late on Reception on the ground floor who is brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and he is so kind and patient, sorry I don't know his name. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful team taking care of me and my health problems. Thank you for your care. Jan Bibby.

Trying to book an appointment at this surgery is virtually impossible, the phone lines are constantly engages, then when it is answered you are then put in a que - this system urgently required attention.

I am a new patient here. It took me four weeks to get an appt for a new patient review, which at one point I was told was impossible as they weren't doing these anymore, and I could not have another appt either as I had not had a patient review! I've rung for a repeat prescription as the online booking system won't let me have a prescription without a review - even though this took place three weeks ago! They told me to ring the surgery - even as I was on the phone to them. Two more phone calls later no appt so, no prescription for life saving drugs. Not helpful, not interested, not safe. Avoid.

I had to register with Meridian Surgery when Foxhill Surgery closed. Although the surgery itself is clean and modern and the doctors and nursing staff seem very good when you eventually get to see them, it's just an absolute nightmare trying to get an appointment, especially if you want to see a specific doctor for a follow up on something. The reception staff seem to be restricted in what appointments they can offer. It seems like you have to have an emergency requirement to be able to get an appointment. You can't phone in the morning to get an appointment for the afternoon / evening - you have to phone after 2.30pm. Then the phones are engaged from 2.30.01 and you get put on hold for ages. It really does seem to be a case of the surgery having too many patients registered for the number of doctors available.

My GP is brilliant, always listens and treats me like a real person with opinions and suggestions. However it has always been difficult to get an appointment on the phone. There are waits of over an hour and you're never allowed to book in advance unless for a routine test. Telephone appointments and the online system has made things much easier, but if you have an urgent problem or need to be seen in person then it's not so easy. Also it seems that repeat prescriptions are now being processed very slowly. Instead of the 2-3 working days they say to wait, I have had to call the surgery to hurry them up a couple of times as my prescription hadn't been sent to the pharmacy 5 working days later. It's very convenient to submit repeats online, but not so convenient if you don't know when they'll be processed.
